Thinner. Lighter. Darker. Clearer. Stronger. Faster.
Better.
While many words rightfully apply to all the possibilities that can be built into today’s lens products, the word we’d use to best describe today’s eyeglass lenses is better. Better comfort. Better versatility. Better for your eyes than ever before.
That’s because eye care professionals now have more options than ever before to custom-fit eyeglass lenses that meet your vision correction needs, as well as the demands of your individual lifestyle. Indoors, outdoors, day or night, working hard or hardly working—eyeglass lenses have undergone a revolution that’s hard to believe, but easy to see.
In fact, we've dedicated a whole segment of EyeGlass Guide to lens product advances.
Are photochromics the ultimate eyeglass lenses?
Photochromic lenses automatically change from clear to dark in the presence of ultraviolet (UV) rays. They adjust automatically to changing light conditions—going from clear indoors to as dark as sunglasses in bright, glaring sunlight. Photochromic lenses are indoor glasses and outdoor glasses, all in one!
In many respects, photochromic lenses represent a pinnacle achievement in eyeglass lenses because now, photochromics are available as a wide range of lens products. Standard single-vision lenses, bifocals, trifocals, progressive lenses, shatter-resistant lenses, lenses that reduce glare or increase clarity of vision, even scratch-resistant lenses—all are now available as photochromic lenses.
This section deals exclusively with photochromics in general, and Transitions® lenses in particular. Consider this much less of an advertisement for the world’s leading photochromic lenses brand, and much more of a body of information about lenses that represent a wholesale change in eye care technology. A change for the better.
